According to the provincial authorities, a road accident occurred Thursday between a coach and a truck on the highway between Marrakech and Casablanca, in the village of Sidi El Mekki in Berrechid, killing the bus driver and injuring 35 people, seven of whom were seriously injured.
The local authorities and security forces, as well as elements of civil defense, were immediately alerted and went to the scene to take the necessary steps, according to the same source, who adds that the wounded were evacuated to the Berrechid provincial hospital for treatment before being moved to the Casablanca University Hospital, given the severity of their injuries.
According to the first elements, the accident could have been caused by dense fog, which made visibility on the road difficult, adds the same source, who also states that the competent authorities have initiated an investigation under the control of the competent prosecutor’s office.
